Wedding photography is one of the grandest and biggest jobs a photographer can have.And one of the most popular hobbies around is photography.Not all people do it for money.  For those amateur hobby photographers taking wedding photos is exciting. So if you have a friend getting married you can surprise them with some shots that may be better than the hired photographer.So here are some advice on improving your wedding photography.

These are some tips for an amateur photographer but they are some tips I have gained doing San Diego wedding photographer work.  So if you are a professional they could help as well too.Because as I have said, doing wedding photography is one of the biggest things that can happen to a photographer.

The first tip would be to work yourself to be in the moment.  What do I mean by that?Well, most of us know what happens in a wedding.There are events that are palnned.But a lot of emotions happen during those events even if they are planned.So you should be ready for those unplannned emotions and take them.Those shots that have emotions in them will be the best among all the photos that you will be taking.  In my portfolio as a San Diego photographer you can see that to be the case.

Another tip is to realize the wedding is a fluid event. So don’t just look for still shots.Capturing the movements of the people in the wedding would result to some of your best photos.It can be hard to capture moving subjects but it is possible.  Of course I had to hone my skills doing San Diego event photography to be able to do this.But once you get the hang of taking shots that are not still shots you would start to love it.  You will be able to outshoot the hired photographer.  As an amatuer photographer that will be a great feeling.  Plus you will be able to share those great photos with your friends.Plus, it can be the start of an extra-income job.

One thing people over look in a wedding is the need for a good wedding photographer.  A lot of times people think all photographers are equal.Or the very least they try to act like they are.But they really aren’t.  A wedding is a special day.  With that in mind you should want a special photographer.A person who has the ability to capture that moment in history memorably.  You don’t want someone to just point and click.  So here are some things that make a good photographer.

First thing you want to seek out is a photographer who is an artist as well.  Because if you find someone like that they can really make the photos memorable. How you find that is by reviewing their portfolio.  I let all my clients of my San Diego wedding photographer business look at my portfolio.  That way they can see how I have not only taken shots.But also being able to put it all together.  You can see it in their work if someone has an artistic side.

Another quality you will want them to have is a good personality. It isn’t all technical with photography.Someone who has a great personality will be important to be able to interact with the guests.  As a San Diego photographer who has done a lot of weddings it makes a difference.A person who is charming will be able to get a lot out of the group of guests.Don’t forget that the guests are people who make up a lot of the great memories as well.

Finally you want someone that is a good portrait photographer.Also you will want somebody who also is a great event photographer as well.  This is important for the wedding party pictures.  As a San Diego portrait photographer that has to be one of the photogapher’s strengths.For the reason these shots are real important as well.

So there you have 3 qualities that make up a good photographer.If you actively seek those qualities in a photographer you are going to love how your pictures turn out. Don’t forget these pictures are going to last a lifetime.
